blushing blossoms.

Blushing Blossoms’ prints are designed for the womenswear market in a spring summer collection.

‘Blushing Blossoms’ explores the feelings of nostalgia and the whimsical delicacy in nature. Eyes and eucalyptus blossoms are the main recurring motifs. This overlay of motifs is drawn from an Australian heritage, specifically with connection to nature. There is a relation between all things found in nature. Both the eucalyptus blossom and eyes open themselves when exposed to sunlight and flourish in its energy. They also hold a similar colour palette; pinks and reds. During research I was also inspired by fashion designers Romance Was Born and the artist Del Kathryn Barton. I wanted to adopt their methods using bright, playful, and characteristic prints with layers and visual explosion of colour.
